en Limba Engleză Paperback – 22 feb 2027
An updated and revised resource balancing process control theory and practice
Now in its Fifth Edition, Process Dynamics and Control continues to deliver the balance of theory and practice that has defined this award-winning textbook. Written by a team of distinguished chemical engineering faculty and practitioners, this edition features significantly revised material on process modeling, control system design, and model predictive control. About 20% of the exercises are new or revised, and lengthy theoretical derivations have been minimized.
This book covers dynamic behavior, physical and empirical modeling, computer simulation, measurement and control technology, and advanced control and optimization strategies. An industrial control problem introduced in Chapter 1 illustrates key methods throughout. The modular chapter structure supports flexible course design, and exercises using MATLAB® and Simulink® reinforce theoretical concepts with hands-on simulation experience.
Readers will also find:
  • Coverage of bioprocess control and real-time optimization topics often omitted from competing texts in the field
  • Updated references at the end of each chapter reflecting recent developments in process control theory and applications
  • Mathematical treatment oriented towards juniors and seniors who have completed a course in ordinary differential equations
  • Instructor resources including a solutions manual, lecture slides, book figures, and supplemental computer exercise materials
  • Student companion website with supplemental materials and additional appendices supporting independent study and coursework
This title serves upper-division chemical engineering students in process modeling and control courses, graduate students in advanced process control, and practicing professionals. Its balanced treatment of theory, simulation, and industrial application prepares readers to design and operate modern processing plants safely and effectively.
