Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran's foreign policy has predominantly been characterized by tension and aggression, maintaining an adversarial stance in international relations. However, a notable departure from this pattern emerged during Khatami's presidency. The author examined the cornerstone of this fundamental change.
