Nicole Blake visits her college roommate in the island country of Trinidad and Tobago under the premise of helping with research for a doctorate in petroleum engineering. Soon after her arrival, Nicole visits Pitch Lake and finds herself immersed in a puzzle that crisscrosses both islands. After numerous unexplainable events, Nicole and her fiance, CIA operative Eric North, are led across the island country in an effort to prevent another untimely death. Who is behind the corruption resulting in the pillaging of Trinidad's natural resources? Will Nicole and Eric help solve the island mystery, or die trying?
