A wonderful introduction to a hugely important aspect of British domestic history, illustrated with a stunning range of examples from the Quilt Museum, of which the author is a curator. Quilting and patchwork have seen a recent surge in popularity, and the V&A has recently hosted a popular historic quilts exhibition.
