Della De Lacie is going to Mars to throw her dead brother into space.
But...
The universe has other plans.
The ship has other ideas.
And then there's the space dragons.
***
When a routine charter flight to Mars is catastrophically interrupted, sending the ship barrelling into the void, Della De Lacie comes face to face with her worst fears. Memories that were once buried deep are dragged in to the here and now, making voices she spent a lifetime running from impossible to escape.
Her best hope is Frank Mendelson, a lone flight tracker finishing up a night shift on the Whitby coast. Haunted by past mistakes, and met with a cold and calculating new enemy, Frank soon realises a runaway ship might be the least of his problems.
But hope can appear in the most unexpected places, and one memory - one voice - that refuses to stay buried could provide Della with all the answers.
She just needs to pay attention.
