Based on a regional legend and spun with a smattering of historical fodder and local jargon, Ol' Scratch shares fictionalized eyewitness accounts that reveal the survival of the most beloved myth of the twentieth century-Bigfoot. Granny Godeaux and her young best friend, Spike, thoroughly enjoy the drama and excitement as Nancy, a Native American who is always full of gossip from up and down the river, talks about Ol' Scratch-the booger in the bottom-and how her ancestors lived side-by-side with the creature for hundreds of years. As Nancy relays sighting after sighting, Granny and Spike learn that Bigfoot has not disappeared.
