Her publications include Politics and Volunteering in Japan (Cambridge 2007), Building Democracy in Japan (Cambridge 2012), and articles in journals such as Comparative Political Studies, Democratization, Journal of Asian Studies, and Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly.
