Notă biografică
David Shotter is Professor Emeritus in Roman Imperial History at the University of Lancaster. His many books include Rome and Her Empire (2003), Tiberius Caesar (2nd edition, 2004), Augustus Caesar (2nd edition, 2005) and The Fall of the Roman Republic (2nd edition, 2005).

The reign of Nero is often judged to be the embodiment of the extravagance and the corruption that have, for many, come to symbolise ancient Rome. David Shotter provides a reassessment of this view in this accessible introduction to Nero, emperor of Rome from 54 to 68 AD.
