Charlotte Cleveland grew up in the Constable country of Essex, UK. Though she didn't particularly excel at school, she always had a love for art and biology. Over the years, she has worked with both children and animals--two sources of inspiration for her quirky, whimsical illustration style in ink and watercolor. A lifelong fan of Quentin Blake, Charlotte also admires the work of Oliver Jeffers and other picture book illustrators, which has led to a growing collection of beautifully illustrated books. When she's not drawing, Charlotte enjoys being outdoors, gardening, and soaking up the wonders of nature.
