Modern Slavery: The Secret World of 27 Million People

There are 27 million slaves alive today, more than at any point in history, and more than were stolen from Africa during four centuries of the transatlantic slave trade. Conservative estimates place the number of slaves living in the US right now at 40,000 with 17,000 individuals being trafficked a year.
