More than twenty years ago, Jon Kabat-Zinn changed the way we thought about awareness in everyday life with his now-classic introduction to mindfulness, Wherever You Go, There You Are. He followed that up with 2005's Coming to Our Senses, the definitive book for our time on the connection between mindfulness and our well-being on every level, physical, cognitive, emotional, social, planetary, and spiritual.
Now, Coming to Our Senses is being repackaged into 4 smaller books, each focusing on a different aspect of mindfulness, and each with a new foreword written by the author. Recenzii
We are Homo Sapiens Sapiens - the species that is aware and knows that it is aware. But so far, we have yet to live our way into this most important attribute of our humanity. This failure is the root cause of our suffering and malaise. In Mindfulness for All, Jon Kabat-Zinn illuminates how mindfulness as a meditation practice and as a way of being can help us live our way into our species' name and thereby change our world for the better - just as mindfulness has been shown to positively affect our health and wellbeing as individuals. He explains how democracy and social justice can thrive when we take responsibility for our own minds and actions and recognize our deep connections with others who may have strikingly different perspectives and narratives. Mindfulness is an essential catalyst for personal and global healing and transformation, and for principled, ethical, and embodied action in tumultuous times. When it comes down to it, what unfolds in the future depends on how you, we, all of us are in this present moment. Therein lies true wisdom and freedom.
Originally published in 2005 as part of a larger book titled Coming to Our Senses, Mindfulness for All features a new foreword by the author, as well as compelling updates throughout the text, and is a "treasure trove of contemporary wisdom" (Publishers Weekly) from a pioneer of the worldwide mindfulness movement.
