"I’m really excited to share how valuable Mentoring in Action: A Guide to Success is for anyone involved in mentoring, especially now, as mentoring programmes are just starting to take off in public organisations in many countries. The book does a fantastic job walking you through everything: from how mentoring has grown into a professional practice, to the role of programme managers, and all the way through real life stories across education, healthcare, business, and more. Each chapter offers fresh insights and practical advice that can really help us build strong, effective mentoring programmes. What I love most is how it shows the wide variety of mentoring styles and settings, plus the importance of having well-trained programme managers who can keep things running smoothly. Especially for us in Greece – just like many other countries - where mentoring is still quite new, this guide offers exactly the kind of support and inspiration we need. If you’re working in mentoring or thinking about starting a programme, this book is a great place to start. It’s like having a friendly expert by your side sharing lessons and ideas every step of the way. Dr. Julie Haddock-Millar, Prof. David Clutterbuck, and Dr. Chandana Sanyal thank you so much!"
Anna Fotini Paschidou, President of EMCC Greece, EMCC Global Lead Accreditation team Greece, EMCC Global Research Development Volunteer
"Mentoring in Practice: A Guide to Success is a powerful and timely contribution to the professionalisation of mentoring worldwide. As someone deeply immersed in mentoring, coaching, supervision and leadership development across sectors, I find this book to be not only a rich resource but also a call to elevate our standards, structures, and imagination in designing mentoring programmes. The 22 international case studies reflect the rich diversity and evolving complexity of mentoring across sectors. Grounded in EMCC Global’s standards, the book offers a toolkit for transformation, and a testament to the value of structure, reflection, and inclusion in mentoring. It reinforces the growing role of programme managers as strategic enablers, blending rigour with relational intelligence. Masterfully curated by Julie, David and Chandana, extraordinary professionals who genuinely embody the values, humility, and wisdom of true mentors, this book is not just a masterful guide for mentoring programmes, but also a living, breathing testament to the power of human connection, shared growth, and the transformative potential of mentoring.”
