Popi Sotiriadou is Associate Professor at Griffith University, recognised as a Senior Fellow by the Higher Education Academy. She has earned multiple educational awards, including the Australian Award for University Teaching and the Australian Financial Review Award. She is a Councillor with the Australian Institute of International Affairs; a Commissioning Editors for the Australian Outlook; and the co-editor at the International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics. Popi, an educational content designer for sport technology providers, ranking in the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Sports Tech in Australia. She is an expert in overseeing high-performance sports, developing sport pathways, and implementing inclusive strategies for sports organizations, spanning from local to international levels.
Veerle De Bosscher is professor in sport management at the department of Sports and movement sciences of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. She is the founder of SPLISS (Sports Policy factors Leading to International Sporting Success, www.spliss.net). Her research focusses on youth and elite sport policy, the societal impact of sport, Olympic Games, athlete pathways and Paralympic development and her main expertise lays in measuring (elite) sport policy effectiveness, and benchmarking nations. Her research activities have resulted widely used policy documents, measurement instruments (e.g., SPLISS, MESSI), peer-reviewed publications, workshops, and national and international presentations. Within the Physical Education and Movement Sciences Bachelor’s and Master's program at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Veerle teaches courses related to sport policy and management (e.g., the organisation of sport, sport policy, event-and project management in sport, high performance management). She supervised 15 PhD students, over 100 master thesis students and co- authored over 150 publications in high standard journals and books.
