'Man Hater'

An urgent and timely exploration of modern misogyny from the award-winning journalist, gender equality campaigner and poet, Chloe Laws.

Misogyny has always existed throughout human history, but today - with millions of boys and men having been ensnared by rising radical ideologies, incel culture and Andrew Tate-like influencers - it is evolving into something even more sinister. However, despite violent crimes against women and girls increasing at an alarming rate, one question always seems to dominate conversations about gender in forum comments and on social media sites: "If it's not acceptable for men to hate women, how come women can hate men?"

In 'MAN HATER', journalist Chloe Laws takes a bold and timely look at this troubling landscape, and lays the groundwork for a more honest, nuanced and inclusive conversation. As the first feminist book to interrogate the concept of misandry (defined as ingrained prejudice against men), along with its cultural portrayal and political misuse, this groundbreaking work challenges the idea that misogyny and misandry have equal and opposite power, and thoughtfully scrutinises the deadly impacts of justifying the former through villainising the latter.

Something needs to change and this book aims to be part of this crucial movement against modern misogyny.
