Recenzii

If you’ve ever felt trapped by your own thoughts, you’ll recognize yourself in Jenna Overbaugh’s remarkably insightful and reassuring approach. Jenna has the rare ability to write like both a highly skilled expert and a friend who truly understands what it’s like to live with a noisy mind. Her clever, engaging explanations reveal the common thread running through OCD, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts – making her approach wonderfully simple without sacrificing its power. Most importantly, she doesn’t just teach you how to quiet your mind; she shows you how to stop letting it run your life.
If you’re exhausted by a noisy mind that just won’t quit, this is the book for you. Jenna Overbaugh has a gift for making the complexities of OCD and anxiety feel easy to understand, deeply relatable and surprisingly fun to read. This is one I’ll be recommending to clients again and again.
A complete guide to navigating recovery from OCD and struggles with intrusive thoughts. It's got not only the tools, but the real personal and clinical experience of applying them.
Jenna Overbaugh offers a warm, lively and deeply practical guide for people caught in the exhausting struggle with intrusive thoughts and anxiety. Rather than promising a life without difficult thoughts and feelings, Making Peace with a Noisy Mind shows readers how to change their relationship with them – making room for discomfort, stepping out of unhelpful cycles and moving toward what genuinely matters. Grounded in proven behavioral approaches and filled with humanity, humor and useful exercises, this book can help readers stop organizing their lives around fear and start building lives that are larger, freer and more their own.
As a therapist, Making Peace with a Noisy Mind is the book about OCD that I have been waiting for. Jenna Overbaugh has done the rare thing of writing from both sides – combining clinical expertise with lived experience, leaving readers feeling deeply understood while also equipped with skills they can use right now. In a world that has become obsessed with healing our anxiety, Making Peace with a Noisy Mind gives us a well needed reality check.
Intrusive thoughts have a way of convincing you that you're the only one who hears them knocking. Overbaugh meets OCD on its own terms, naming its particular tricks with precision and guiding readers out with warmth instead of shame.
An absolute must-read for anyone struggling with intrusive thoughts, persistent anxiety or other OCD-related symptoms. This will be a life-changing resource for so many!
FINALLY. A book about OCD that leaves you feeling less overwhelmed by OCD, not more. Jenna has a way of making something incredibly complicated feel understandable and, more importantly, doable!
This is such a welcoming book. It drew me in with its accessible tone and humor and kept me reading as I explored the countless real-life examples of people struggling and overcoming their issues with OCD. It’s clearly rooted in scientific evidence on how the brain works and learns, as well as in many years of clinical practice, making it such a valuable resource. At the end of it, I felt like I had just had a cup of tea and a chat with a (very knowledgeable) friend. I would highly recommend Making Peace With A Noisy Mind not just to people struggling with OCD but really to anyone who has ever experienced periods of increased anxiety and rumination.
