Recenzii
“Drawing on years of experience leading and working with a wide range of schools the authors deliver a richly detailed and authoritative guide to the ongoing work of school improvement. This is not a book of easy anecdotes or quick fixes: it reflects the complexity and challenge of leading schools effectively. Each layer of work is expertly unpicked to offer both insight and a compelling vision of how they fit together in practice. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book as essential reading for headteachers and school leaders at any stage of their career, with serious learning to be gained throughout.”
- Terry Millar, CEO at Lumero Educational Trust
“This handbook presents alternative approaches that challenge prevailing educational norms. In reviewing the current educational landscape, Chapter One highlights how schools are trapped in a cycle of accountability and inspection, and critiques the dominant model shaped by Ofsted’s culture of results and high-stakes testing. It advocates the development of curriculum models that improve student and school outcomes grounded in an epistemological framework informed by evidence-based research rather than performance metrics and compliance-driven performance.
It introduces a novel dynamic School Transformation Framework that empowers leaders to move beyond Ofsted-defined models of success and to cultivate school-improvement strategies that are grounded in critical professional experience, and forward-thinking leadership.”
- Sue Wade, Head of Centre, Moon Hall Cairo
“This is a rare and refreshingly practical guide to raising attainment. Chapter Four is invaluable for anyone tasked with this work on a daily basis. It is accessible to Excel novices yet full of insight for experienced leaders, bringing clarity to a role that can often feel overwhelming. The chapter offers a clear, step-by-step walkthrough of how senior leaders can actually do the job well, using data intelligently and purposefully. The process of building a tracker is accessible and demystified, demonstrating that it is far more than a collection of numbers; it is a powerful tool for identifying vulnerability, targeting support and monitoring impact.”
- Claire Tarca, Assistant Headteacher for Raising Attainment
