The third section of Kant’s Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals is one of the most contentiously debated texts in his practical philosophy. There has been little agreement about whether Kant was attempting to deduce freedom and moral law in this work, or if instead, this thesis was already supported by the very fact of reason.
