Jake and his fellow students in Mr. Thompsons first grade class are getting ready for a celebration. Tomorrow is the 100th day of school and everyone is going to share their collections of 100 things. Best of all, Mr. Thompson announces a special visit from Jakes Grandma Maggie. The students know that when Grandma Maggie comes to school, wonderful things happen.The day of the celebration arrives. Henry brings 100 bottle caps and Emily brings 100 paperclips. Soon the classroom is filled with hundreds and hundreds of things. But Jake forgets the 100 family pictures he has glued into a special memory book at home. Thanks to the ingenuity of Aunt Maggie and School Principal Mrs. Wadsworth, as well as his own clever thinking, Jake does have a collection to display that dayas well as another special collection to share with the class on the 101st day of school.
