Introduction to Bionanotechnology
Autor Young-Chul Lee, Ju-Young Moonen Limba Engleză Hardback – 12 mar 2020
In this book, we tried to identify the definition of bionanotechnology. Briefly, Bionanotechnology is the emerging research field that comes from the intersection of nanotechnology and biotechnology. Nanotechnology is referring to the design, development, and application of materials which at least one dimension at nanometer scale meanwhile biotechnology is developed based on knowledge about living systems and organisms to create or improve different products. The association of nanotechnology and biotechnology pave a way to develop a hybrid technology with unique features. Thus, this novel technology will be used to improve our living standard in different aspects from developing new medicine, food, and functional cosmetics, introducing new methods to analyze and treat cancer to protect environmental problems.

Notă biografică
Young-Chul Lee is a professor and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Purom Co., Ltd. Dr. Lee earned his Master’s and Ph.D.. degrees in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute & Science Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, in February 2006 and 2011, respectively, after obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Department of Polymer Science and Engineering from Pusan University in 2004. From 2011 to 2013, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher in Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Chosun University and in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at KAIST, Korea. From March 2013 to March 2014, he was a research professor at the Research Institute of Industrial Science & Technology, Inha University. In April 2014, he joined as an assistant professor in the Department of BioNano Technology, Gachon University. As the head of the Smart Antioxidant Nanoparticle and System Lab., Dr. Lee's research focuses on inorganic-organic (nano)particles for biological and environmental applications utilizing unique nanomaterials such as carbon dots, aminoclays, and photocatalysts entrapped in hydrogels and 2D layered materials. Dr. Ju-Young Moon is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Purom Co., Ltd. She is also an adjunct professor at Kwangwoon University Graduate School of Business Administration (February 2024–present) and an operating professor at Gachon University Distance Lifelong Education Center (August 2024–present). She earned her Bachelor's degree in Beauty Arts at Wonkwang University in February 2013, followed by a Master's degree in Integrative Medicine and Complementary Alternative Therapy at CHA University in July 2019. She later obtained her Doctorate in Beauty, Health, and Cosmetic Science at Westminster Graduate School of Theology in February 2021. Her research focuses on cosmeceuticals, particularly on cosmetic products formulated with bioactive compounds from medically effective plant phenolics.
