Recenzii
Drs. Douaihy and Gold have created a masterful guide that blends the powerful skills of mindfulness and motivational interviewing in a way I have never experienced before. If you are looking to expand your clinical skill set, you will find this book an important tool applicable to a wide range of clinical settings for children, adolescents, and adults. A terrific and much needed book! Hilary McClafferty, MD, FAAP Founder and CEO Academy of Pediatric Integrative Medicine
Drs. Douaihy and Gold, a clinical and researcher team, have assembled a bouquet of scholarly chapters and provided an excellent and pragmatic guide for practitioners' healthcare settings that integrates basic and applied research and a clinically-informed novel and thorough framework on combining Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Mindfulness (MF). This guide is so timely and will stand as a major contribution to clinical practice, broadening the importance of the synergistic integration of these empirically-based therapeutic approaches. Dennis C. Daley, PhD Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
Antoine Douaihy, Melanie Gold, and co-authors open our minds and motivate us to ponder the crossroads of mindfulness-based practices and motivational interviewing for a variety of physical, behavioral, and mental health conditions. The combination of compassionate, nonjudgmental self-awareness and the guiding style of focusing people's attention on self-directed change has great potential to empower people to improve their health and well-being. This practical, well-written guide is packed with examples of different ways in which to achieve to these aims and encourages us to continue to build the conceptual and empirical base of this integrated approach. Steve Martino, PhD Professor of Psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine New Haven, Connecticut, USA Member of MINT
