The Harbor City, or Hong Kong, is many things to many people: to the Chinese it is either their birthplace or a destination to which many have fled from the poverty and civil war and tyranny of mainland China. To the British civil service workers it is the last bastion of a rapidly shrinking British Empire wherein they attempt to live out their lives in a strange love-hate relationship with the local populace. Now, with nearly a million Chinese near the border attempting to cross over into Hong Kong to escape the madness of Mao's endless socio-political programs along with major street battles between warring factions of various Chinese secret societies and political factions - five men and their visions for themselves and the Crown Colony collide in a tale of intrigue, violence, and betrayal that destroys the lives of many... and threatens the stability of the Crown Colony itself.
