After twenty-five years in prison, Paul Burns dreams of a quiet life. A job at the McCall Book Nook, an unusual bookstore on the Oregon coast, feels like that fresh start.

Until Paul finds a self-help book on the shelves written by the daughter he hasn't seen in decades. It seems Kathryn has built a career from the wreckage of their family, turning Paul's crimes and her tumultuous childhood into inspiration for millions.

There's just one problem. In Kathryn's version of events, Paul is dead.

Determined to make amends, Paul reaches out. But when ambitious self-help mogul Lois Hamm sees dollar signs in the reunion, father and daughter are thrust into the spotlight. For Paul, a docuseries offers a chance at redemption or infamy. For Kathryn, it could send her career soaring or destroy everything she's built.
