Fantasy for Piano and String Quartet

Jacob David Lewis (born 2000) is a composer from Canterbury, UK. Currently reading History and Politics with International Relations at Queen Mary University in London, he is also an accomplished musician playing piano, violin and viola. He also conducts various orchestras and ensembles.

This Fantasy for piano and string quartet was woven together in the midst of the COVID-19 global crisis. The haunting melody intertwined with bold octave passages rolling through the piece portray a longing for escape and release from the constraints that these times imposed. The ultimately positive spirit of the piece offers hope at a time of uncertainty.
