Fair Winds!

Katie's journey as a storyteller began in the classroom, where she spent years as a high school English literature teacher, introducing young minds to the transformative power of narrative. She later brought that same passion to a national stage as a language arts consultant for a major publisher, helping shape how stories are taught and understood across the country. But perhaps her deepest connection to storytelling came through her family's art gallery, where she immersed herself in Native American culture and art-a legacy passed down from her parents that taught her to see the sacred in every thread of the human experience.A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Katie brings to her writing a rare combination of literary excellence and cultural reverence. Her years of teaching literature gave her an intimate understanding of how stories shape us, while her work with Native American art taught her to honor the spiritual dimensions of narrative. In her collaboration with Michael, she is the architect of emotional truth-the one who ensures that every character's journey resonates with authenticity and heart. Now settled in the mountains surrounding Santa Fe, New Mexico, Katie has found the perfect landscape for the stories she and Michael create together. The high desert, with its ancient pueblos and timeless vistas, mirrors the mythic quality of their work.
