Welcome to this third collection of larger-than-life, but nonetheless true stories guaranteed to resonate with the reader: another preposterous volume of anecdotes from the pen of established writer/illustrator Guy Newmountain, author of Please I Can to the Toilet Go? (The Memoirs of a Supply Teacher) and Funnyology (Tales Beyond Teaching). While his first work focused solely on school-based tales and the next on experiences outside that sphere, here you have the pick of both approaches: a broad mix of 70 classroom-centric and extracurricular exploits; although it's notable just how many of the non-school-based stories still link back in one way or another to Education.
With the author more than willing to recognise his own shortcomings, within these pages can be found a rich seam of thought-provoking, heart-stopping and laugh-out-loud moments, both lesson-bound and domestic. A masterclass in eclectic, subversive storytelling, the brilliant illustrations by the artist himself perfectly complement the narrative; while the striking cover art flawlessly captures the very essence of the book. It truly is the School of Life!
