Energy and Evolution: A Systems Biology Approach

Autor John S. Torday, Rob G. Sacco
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 10 mar 2027
Energy and Evolution delves into the fundamental elements of life and how they intersect with the principles of evolution by merging evolutionary systems biology, cognitive science, and a host of interdisciplinary fields, and offering a fresh perspective on how energy transduction intricately links evolutionary processes. The authors invite readers to rethink and reimagine by challenging conventional views, proposing that the fabric of life, from the smallest cellular mechanisms to vast cosmic structures, is woven with threads of energy, constantly in flux and evolution. The effort aims to provide readers, whether they are seasoned academics or curious learners, with a comprehensive and thought-provoking perspective on the multifaceted roles of energy in the evolutionary saga.

Notă biografică

John S. Torday is Professor Emeritus, UCLA and former Professor In-Residence of Pediatrics and Obstetrics/Gynecology, Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Director, Perinatal Biology Training Program Step III, Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He has served as mentor to dozens of early career scholars, acted as reviwer or served on editorial boards for many journals , and authored or coauthored hundreds of peer reviewed scientific papers.
Rob G. Sacco is an interdisciplinary researcher working at the intersection of systems biology, evolutionary theory, and mathematical modeling. Current work develops recursive and constraint-based frameworks for biological organization, aging, and emergence across scales.
