Emily's Letters

Autor Vicki Reddin-Gauthier
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 25 mar 2017
Imagine if you could have one more conversation with friends and lovers now gone from this earth. One 'I love you', one rift healed, one cup of tea shared-or even a whole bottle of wine. Emily's spirit friends fill her dreams with sweet and bittersweet memories, blithe observations, and fierce debates, while reality works hard to keep Emily pinned to the stone and sand of Prince Edward Island's coast. Despite coping with personal losses and career uncertainties, Emily is determined to transform her life when, like a little tornado, an attractive young musician blows into her life. Fortunately, in Emily's Letters, the dead have as much to say as the living and do their best to keep her out of the whirlwind that is Luke. They help her tell her story with an open and generous heart in language that is sometimes quirky, sometimes salty, occasionally raw, and undeniably human. On a magical Island cradled in the waves of Atlantic Canada, Emily discovers the rhythms of compassion, healing and belonging, and is finally able to let go of her obsession with an impossible love. Or is she?

Notă biografică

Vicki watched the world in wonder as a child and longed to record her thoughts. She hopes she never puts away childish things. Vicki lives in a beautiful coastal community on Prince Edward Island. "The Luckiest Ones," the story of the six years her family cared for her husband Sonny as he faced the challenges of a life with brain cancer, was published in 2025 by Acorn Press. Vicki is currently working on "The Reluctant Caregiver: A Recipe for Recovery", travel essays and a novel set in the Azores. As well as her family, her great loves include books, travel, music, animals, children, laughter and good chats with friends, the living ones.
