Edward Wake-Walker worked for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution for 28 years, the last 16 of which as Public Relations Director. He has a profound knowledge of the lifeboat service's 180-year history and has traveled widely throughout the UK and Ireland, meeting and writing about many of the most well-known lifeboat coxswains. In 1992, he published "RNLI Gold Medal Rescues" in collaboration with the marine artist, Tim Thompson.
