هذا الكتاب، يقدّمُ للقارئ عُقود الجُمان في إثبات نُبُوَّة الخَضر ووجودهِ إلى آخِر الزّمان، تقديمًا وتحقيقًا وتعليقًا لِيُعَرّف بصاحبه البكريّ الصدّيقيّ ومكانته العِلميّة والثقافيّة، وإِسهاماته التي دفعَ بها في سبيل رَفْع مكانة العِلم وتمكينه، خاصّة في علوم التفسير والحديث، والفِقه، واللّغة والتّاريخ.
يُعْتَبَرُ هذا الكتاب مُتميّزًا عن غيره مِن الكُتب التي تختصُّ بالفترة العثمانيّة، لأنّه ينفرد بالحديث عن المؤرّخ والمُفسّر المِصريّ، محمّد بن أَبي السُّرور البكري الصدّيقيّ، المعروف بتقرّبه وتأييده للسلطات العثمانيّة. كما أنّه ينفرد بالكشف عن مجموعة رسائل سمّاها "عُقود الجُمان في إثبات نُبُوَّة الخَضر ووجودهِ إلى آخِر الزّمان" رسالة في ذِكر أخبار عساكر العِصيان الواردين مِن جِهة الأقطار اليمانيّة; الدّاخلين على حَرَمِ مكّة المُشَرَّفَة، ، ليضع بين يديّ الباحث والقارئ مصادر تاريخيّة هامّة تُنشَر لأوّل مرّة هنا.

This book presents a scholarly edition of the aforementioned scholar’s work, Pearl Necklaces: Affirming the Prophecy of al-Khaḍir and his Presence until the End of Time, with an introduction and commentary. The aim is to familiarize the reader with this important scholar, al-Bakrī al-Ṣiddīqī, and the scholarly and cultural significance of his work.
What sets this work apart from other treatises dealing with the Ottoman period is its focus on the Egyptian historian and exegete Abū al-Surūr al-Bakrī al-Ṣiddīqī, known for his close connections to the Ottoman authorities. In it we present an annotated edition, with an introduction and commentary, of a collection of letters entitled Pearl Necklaces: Affirming the Prophecy of al-Khaḍir and his Presence until the End of Time, in addition to another composition, A Letter Relating the Events Surrounding the Rebelling Troops That Came from Yemen and Entered Mecca, thus providing scholars and other interested parties with important historical sources that see the light of day for the first time here.
