Discovering Words

Neepin Auger's Discovering Words pairs colourful illustrations with simple vocabulary in three languages, giving very young children an accessible first experience of English, French and Plains Cree. The durable board-book format supports pointing, repetition and shared reading as children begin linking familiar objects and concepts with spoken and printed words.

The book places Indigenous-language learning alongside two widely used Canadian languages and includes pronunciation support for adults who may be encountering Plains Cree for the first time.
