Kalisa Kinigi survived genocide as a child. Now, she struggles to make a life in Middle America, trying to overcome the emotional wounds of those unimaginably evil times. But something from that distant place has awakened, finding its way back into Kalisa's life and destroying everything she has tried to accomplish. A vicious creature lives on the edge of her everyday world, leaving shattered victims in its rampaging path as it comes ever closer to her broken family.
