Design Unbound: How Experimentation Enhances Creativity
Autor Meaghan Dee, Meena Khalili, Robin Landaen Limba Engleză Paperback – dec 2026
Drawing on the perspectives of three designers and educators as well as featured prominent practitioners, the book presents frameworks, methods, case studies, and project examples that guide readers from observation and curiosity through storytelling, futures thinking, material exploration, and collaboration. Readers learn how to initiate projects, define constraints, sustain momentum, and transform personal or societal concerns into purposeful work.
Written for practitioners, educators, and students, Design Unbound shows how self-directed projects can become laboratories for new ideas, catalysts for professional growth, and contributions to culture. It does not tell designers what to make. It helps them decide what is worth making.

Recenzii
“This book is for people who are ready to ignite the spark that made them fall in love with design. This book is the battery recharge that designers will use to jump-start their creative engines. It is filled with different techniques, processes, and exercises designers can employ when they’re facing creative block.”
c. diane gibbs, University of South Alabama, USA
"In a book I wish I could have read 20 years ago, Design Unbound gives structured, actionable ideas and methods to tackle what is often the most difficult and most rewarding work a designer can take on: the self initiated project. This handbook sits in that intriguing gray area between design and art and helps answer “how do I work here?”
Mitch Goldstein, Author
“The most generative design projects often begin with a question. This book honors that truth and gives permission to treat our own curiosity as a worthy starting point. It offers design practitioners, educators, and students intentional frameworks for turning self-initiated projects into foundational practices that push beyond deadlines and creative briefs.”
Sheharazad Fleming, ArtCenter College of Design, USA
