June is being haunted by more than the shadow people she's seen since childhood. To confide in her husband would make her sound crazy. To let her children witness her terror would unmoor them. But secrets have a way of slowly poisoning life and loved ones alike.
Hiding from her past in the notion that her present reality isn't all bad, June desperately clings to the helpful practices and precious moments that have given her all the happiness she's needed, tucked away in their cozy mountain home. But even the brightest forests are sometimes home to the darkest caves. Death never leaves her, sex hungers for more, and magic dares to deepen its roots. Now, an unkillable demon at June's door makes a demand that puts herself and her family at the mercy of her ability to grow through the hidden realms that lie beyond their own.
In this hauntingly psychological fantasy, June will have to learn the lesson of lifetimes. What happens when your inner demons become real, and you can no longer fight them alone?
