"After an introduction into the structure of case collection and how to use this atlas the authors describe the general aspects of corrosion, control and prevention. Part II is dedicated to corrosion topics, where 13 common corrosion phenomena are described, and specific prevention measures are discussed. Part III deals with corrosion in water-bearing systems, since many corrosion phenomena are ocurrring in such systems, resulting in high service costs. A glossery of terms and tables with compositions of commonly used materials finish the text part, in which the reader gets a compact introduction into corrosion, pointing to the important aspects of this topic. The main part is dedicated to case studies- the actual atalas. The presented examples cover a wide range from pipes, heat exchangers, steam generators, bearings, ropes, bars etc. Special appearances of corrosion types are demonstrated by pictures of test sheets. Finally, these Corrosion Atlas Case Studies provide a helpful tool required for engineers in their daily life to quickly determine and solve their equipment's corrosion problems by compact theoretical background and vivid examples.
