Corpus Linguistics for Multimodality: A Guide for Research: Routledge Corpus Linguistics Guides
Autor Christoph Rühlemannen Limba Engleză Hardback – 29 ian 2027
Drawing on empirical findings from the Freiburg Multimodal Interaction Corpus, it explores the use of corpus linguistics as a tool for understanding how people manage their everyday conversations and interactions, not only through what they say, but also how they use their bodies in, and how their bodies are affected by, saying it. Across nine clear chapters, the analysis presented take into focus multimodal resources (such as word frequencies, gaze, prosody, and gesture) and investigate the effects of embodied talk-in-interaction on cognitive and emotional processes grounded and reflected in the body. With the inclusion of reflective questions as well as some chapters being co-authored with experts in the field, this book makes a compelling and authoritative case of corpus linguistics as a unique means of different levels of interactions.
This volume serves key reading for students and researchers in applied linguistics and related fields.
