Notă biografică
Lionel Curtis (1872–1955) was a British internationalist and author. He was the inspiration for the foundation of The Royal Institute of International Affairs as well as the US Council on Foreign Relations. He was a leading member of the Round Table Movement.

Originally published as 3 volumes in the 1930s, then as a second edition in a single volume in 1950 Civitas Dei deals with fundamental questions about human society: where it has come from, where it is going and where (in the author’s view) it ought to go.
