Buried Florida
Autor Casey Fredetteen Limba Engleză Paperback – 26 aug 2026
Buried and remembered inside graveyards, churchyards, memorial gardens, and pet cemeteries are the people and animals that helped shape the history of this coastline. The Fun Coastline is proud to call itself the Birthplace of Speed, boasting a unique beach-racing history. NASCAR legends and other pioneers of speed and racing are buried across this region. Generations of lighthouse cats, spanning a century, are put to rest in a small cemetery space in Ponce Inlet, each having served the lighthouse and its keepers. At the Flagler Beach Flagler Memorial Gardens, sculptures, carvings, and photographs commemorate the individuals who are remembered there. Unlike many other remote burial mounds across Florida, a centuries-old Timucua burial mound sits at a traffic intersection in a residential area. Buried inside are more than 100 Timucua dead.
The Fun Coastline offers stunning ocean and river views, a rich and diverse history, and countless stories waiting to be discovered beneath its sands, in its soil and waters, and among its buried dead.

Notă biografică
Casey Fredette is a self-taught photographer whose passion for the art began at an early age with a polaroid camera. Amidst a nomadic childhood, photography provided him the means to capture moments that would otherwise be lost to time and allow them to live forever. His recent relocation to Crystal River, a unique gem along Florida's Nature Coast, has given him the chance to make his passion a priority. While exploring the cities and cemeteries of the American Southeast, contrasting to those of his early New England upbringing, sparked a year-long project to preserving the memory of those otherwise forgotten.
