Even therapy dogs need days off! Britan is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with an important job: helping people feel happy and calm as a therapy dog. But when he's off duty, it's time for family, fun, and adventure. Join Britan and his sisters, Chancey and Noemi, for beach days, dolphin watching, mountain walks, dog-park fun, coffee-shop visits, and even an airplane ride. Along the way, young readers discover that rest, play, and family time help everyone recharge, even dogs with important jobs. A heartwarming dog adventure for children ages 4-8, Britan's Favorite Days Off celebrates family, fun, and the joy of simply being a dog. Want to see Britan at work? Notă biografică

Working with my therapy dog, Britan, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, has been a high point in my life and is immensely rewarding. As a team, Britan and I have spent many hours in assisted living facilities, the Charlotte Douglas airport, libraries, classrooms, hospitals, adolescent treatment centers, and universities, bringing people smiles and joy. Each place we visit, we see the powerful effects of his presence, from the brightening of a child's eyes to the easing of an elderly patient's pain. These experiences have inspired me to share our journey and advocate for the importance of therapy animals in healthcare and everyday life.Britan has been able to enjoy his days off with family to get the rest and relaxation he needs to continue the special service he provides. Our family enjoys seeing him act like just a dog. He is then ready and able to brighten someone's day.
