Bless Me Father

A disturbing number of parishioners have unburdened their souls to priests only to become victims of terror and violence--even murder. Their confessions blanket the range of human transgressions, and their penance is harsh and brutal. These retributional acts appear to follow the creed: "limb for limb, eye for eye, tooth for tooth."
