Notă biografică

Mario Cartaya was born in 1951 in Havana, Cuba, and fled into exile in the United States at age nine following the rise of Fidel Castro’s regime. There, he fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming an architect and, in 1979, founded a highly acclaimed architectural firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which he led for forty-three years.
In 2019, his life story and award-winning architectural work were entered into the United States Congressional Record—forever enshrined in the United States Library of Congress. In 2022, the US House of Representatives honored him for his contributions to the betterment of the nation during a ceremony at the Library of Congress.
That same year, Mario retired from architecture to pursue a literary career. His work has been featured by Univision, PBS, The World’s Best Magazine, and Authority Magazine. Mario has also contributed as a guest speaker at universities and book festivals across the US.
