When Nia loses her apartment, her best friend, Simone, offers her a temporary place to stay. It should be the fresh start Nia desperately needs, but moving into Simone's home places her dangerously close to Adrian-the husband she has spent years pretending she does not want.
Adrian has always been forbidden, yet the tension between them is rooted in a history Nia does not fully remember. Simone knows more than she admits, and the secrets inside her marriage reach far beyond jealousy and betrayal. When a hidden key reveals an unexpected connection between Adrian and Nia's past, Nia is pulled into a dangerous mystery involving manipulated DNA results, unexplained deaths, missing relatives, and the powerful Kane family.
As buried truths begin to surface, Nia must decide whom she can trust. Adrian may be the only person capable of helping her uncover what happened to her family, but getting closer to him could destroy the friendship that once meant everything to her.
Caught between forbidden desire and a truth someone is willing to kill to protect, Nia soon realizes that the question is not simply whether Adrian belongs to Simone. It is whether he was connected to Nia long before he ever became her best friend's husband.
Before He Was Hers is an emotionally gripping, slow-burn romantic suspense novel filled with forbidden attraction, friendship and marriage betrayal, dangerous family secrets, shocking revelations, and a major cliffhanger leading into Book Two.
