Erika J. Gibson is an author and owner of Black Diamond Publishing. As an advocate for children and quality, early childhood education, Erika noticed a lack of diversity in educational resources and print materials.
To directly address the under-representation of children of color in books, Erika founded her own publishing company and pursued her goal of becoming a children's book author.
Erika's books feature black and brown characters to empower, inspire, encourage, educate, and instill hope in all children and can be enjoyed by any reader. As an author, it is important to Erika that her books represent diversity and inclusion, where children can see themselves in the characters.
Erika is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas but currently resides in Northern Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a Master of Education degree in School Psychology from Howard University.
