Antennas: From the Theory of Long Lines to Integral Equations
Autor Boris Levinen Limba Engleză Hardback – 26 dec 2024
New results include the widespread use of the complex potential method in relation to the calculation of capacitive structures in homogeneous and inhomogeneous media, antenna patterns and flows of electrical fields between antenna elements and in the surrounding space. In particular, the analysis of field flows makes it possible to substantiate a rigorous method for analyzing microstrip antennas. The characteristics of antennas in various conditions of their installation are considered and compared. The results of the use of multi-floors structures that provide in the wide frequency range the radiation in direction perpendicular to the antenna axis, and structures that make it possible to reduce the mutual influence of antennas located at different heights on a common mast are described.

Notă biografică
Boris Levin was born in Saratov, Russia, in January 1937. He graduated from Leningrad Polytechnic Institute in 1960, received his Ph.D. in radio physics from Central Research Institute of Automatic Devices in Leningrad in 1969 and Doctor of Sciences Degree in Physics and Mathematics (Russian equivalent of professor degree) from S.-Petersburg Polytechnic University in 1993. From 1963 to 1998 he worked for the Design Department “Svyazmorproyekt” of Russia Shipbuilding Ministry. From 2008 to 2015 he works in Holon Institute of Technology, Israel. Currently he is retired.
Levin Boris has authored 9 books, including three books in Russian and six books in English, including “The theory of thin antennas and its use in antenna engineering” (Bentham Science Publishers, 2013), “Antenna Engineering. Theory and Problems” (CRC Press, 2017), “Wide-range and Multi-frequency Antennas” (CRC Press, 2019) and “Antennas: Rigorous Methods of Analysis and Synthesis” (CRC Press, 2021). Further he has authored 94 original articles in technical journals, 97 papers in proceedings of international scientific conferences, and 45 patents. His main research interests are in the fields of the electromagnetic theory, the theory of linear antennas and antenna optimization. Major accomplishments are analysis, design and developments of new antennas.

Descriere
This book on antenna analysis and synthesis relies heavily on the long line theory. The approach taken in it corresponds to the physical content of antenna problems, simplifies mathematical apparatus, and makes it possible to overcome difficulties.
