Anindya Basu Roy is a B’ Tech (Hons) from Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Kharagpur. Subsequently he did his MBA from Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (affiliated to Calcutta University) and his PhD in Management from WBUT. His thesis was related to mapping of managerial competency for the IT sector and developing a psychometric tool for assessing the competencies mapped. He has over thirteen years of work experience in Engineering, Management and Consultancy both in India & the US – mostly working for the HCL group. For the last twenty-five years he has been working as an Organizational Development Consultant in South Asia. He has authored and presented several papers related to HRM in various HR forums and symposiums and has a few publications to his credit. He along with Professor Sumati Ray, had authored a book entitled Competency based HRM which was published by Routledge, in February, 2025 in the UK. He is also an adjunct professor HR Analytics for the MHRM and MBA courses at IISWBM and the PGCBA course at XLRI.
Sumati Ray is a MSc in Psychology from Calcutta University. Subsequently she did her PhD in Management from Calcutta University. She started her career with the Institute of Psychometry in Kolkata where she eventually became the joint Director for Research & Development at the Institute. She subsequently switched to academics and joined Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM). There she has worn multiple hats by working as a professor for MBA (Day), subsequently for MHRM and even heading MHRM and finally Professor Emeritus after her retirement. As an academician apart from teaching, she has presented papers in different national and international conferences and published papers in different peer-reviewed journals. Besides, she has been regularly supervising students for their PhD thesis. Apart from teaching and research she carries out HR Consultancy work for a large number of organizations including private, public sector enterprises and government bodies.
