After Amen: 50 Days of Poetry and Prayer
Autor Tyler Statonen Limba Engleză Hardback – 21 apr 2026
Are you ready to explore the remarkable reality of God’s beauty? After his shocking Stage 4 cancer diagnosis, pastor and author Tyler Staton found himself cast into a wilderness of emotion. Amid the struggle, he found strength in the familiar solaces of prayer, contemplation, and Scripture, but also through an unexpected source—writing carefully crafted poetry. Even after going into remission, this practice awakened a new appreciation in Tyler for how God uses beauty to draw us powerfully to himself.
After Amen contains inspiring chapters on the role of creativity and beauty in the Christian life, as well as a core of 50 entries which feature biblical reflection, heartfelt prayer, and a short original poem from Tyler. Focusing on Jesus’s Seven Signs in Gospel of John, readers will encounter their own lives with new appreciation and inspired insight, as Tyler shows how all of life, joy and suffering, is an opportunity to be formed more completely in the image of Jesus. This exceptional book is an inspiring, provocative, and beautiful exploration of how much of our spiritual life truly happens not only with what we say during prayer, but what we live After Amen.

Recenzii
Few things slow us down, and crack us open like poetry; done well, it can soften the heart, attune the spirit, arrest us with beauty, and carry us through a literary portal into union with God. One minute we're reading, the next we're caught up in the love of the Trinity and the beautiful mystery of life. My friend Tyler Staton has given a rare gift - a collection of writings that intentionally blurs the line between poetry and prayer. As Tyler explains, the Western Church gave up poetry for music, to mixed effect. All of us who are finding our way backward through the treasure trove of Christian history will find in this book much joy.
I read this book with an overwhelming sense of relief. It's an exquisite offering - lyrical, contemplative, playful and wise, from one of the most thoughtful, prayerful and poetic souls I know.
It would be remiss to categorise Tyler's brilliant book as another text to simply read when it is so much more. It's a journey to travel, it's a flavour to be savoured, it's an exploration into heart and soul. The format of After Amen allows the reader to participate, to explore and then apply. It combines deep theology with thoughtful reflection, poetic expression and then meaningful action. Ultimately it drawers those willing to take the time into the presence of God. I loved it.
In After Amen Tyler Staton weaves biblical insight, prophetic inspiration and poetry in this stunning exploration of poetry and prayer. This fifty-day guide is both accessible and deep, awakening us step by step to a deeper, healthier and more attentive spiritual life.
After Amen is a beautiful, disarming invitation into the kind of prayer that refuses to stay confined to a moment and instead reshapes a life. With poetic depth and pastoral honesty, he guides us to see the sacred hidden in the ordinary-the front porch moments where God meets us in our interruptions, frustrations, and small awakenings. This is not a book to rush through; it's a companion for those longing to see like Jesus and live with that vision in everyday life.
Tyler Staton writes like a poet and prays like a man who knows God. In After Amen, he gently leads us into the hidden beauty of both the small and sacred moments, guiding us past words and into real communion. This book doesn't just teach you to pray; it ushers you into the room where God is already waiting.
