Adaptive Radiation Therapy: Fundamentals and Practice: Series in Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering

Editat de Yao Hao, Arash Darafsheh
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 28 oct 2026
This book provides an introduction to the practice of adaptive radiotherapy (ART). Exploring recent advances and clinical considerations, readers will learn about the philosophy, fundamentals, implementation, status, and outcomes of this advanced radiotherapy technique in which treatment plans are adapted to accommodate inter- and intra-fraction anatomic changes, reducing margins and setup uncertainties.
Chapters, authored by subject-area experts from across the globe, discuss physical and biological considerations, detail the cutting-edge machines used in ART, explore clinical considerations, and provide examples of site-specific ART implementation.
This is a valuable reference for medical physicists and radiation oncologists, residents in radiation oncology, and medical physics graduate students. It can also serve as supplementary reading for courses in radiotherapy dosimetry and for students preparing for American Board of Radiology (ABR) exams.

Key features:
  • Explores the implementation of adaptive radiotherapy using different machines
  • Details clinical considerations in adaptive radiation therapy
  • Provides outcomes of adaptive radiotherapy for various cancers
