Santiago Roncagliolo es un destacado escritor peruano reconocido por sus novelas de thriller, noir y humor negro. Ha escrito una trilogía de novelas sobre la Iglesia católica y el poder: Abril rojo, que ganó el Premio Alfaguara y el Independent Foreign Fiction Prize; Líbranos del mal, que estuvo un año en la lista de las novelas peruanas más vendidas; y El año en que nació el demonio, considerada una de las novelas del año por la revista Forbes España.
También ha publicado las historias reales El amante uruguayo, retrato de un escritor que amó a Federico García Lorca, y La cuarta espada, sobre el líder del grupo terrorista Sendero Luminoso. Su trabajo ha cruzado fronteras. Pudor fue adaptada al cine en España y La pena máxima, en Perú; La noche de los alfileres fue llevada al teatro en Polonia; El accidente nació como un pódcast en México, donde también se presentó su obra de teatro Tus amigos nunca te harían daño. Actualmente reside en Barcelona.

His work has crossed borders. Pudor was adapted into a film in Spain and La pena máxima in Peru; La noche de los alfileres was adapted for the stage in Poland; and El accidente originated as a podcast in Mexico, where his play Your Friends Would Never Hurt You was also presented. He currently lives in Barcelona.
