As a healthcare professional, I am with families at some of the lowest moments of their lives. During my time with the Benton family, I witnessed an outpouring of love that was like no other. While caring for Lindsay, our team was touched and forever changed. The family was the best I have seen in my career and that strength lasted through the entire week of Lindsays stay in my unit. They impressed me with their unity, love and support for one another. That love was like nothing I had ever seen in such a dark time. They drew me into their family and kept me there. This love for me was a guide in reaching out to my own family that had kept themselves at a distance from me and for this I owe a debt of gratitude to Lindsays family.
