Hayley Snow, food critic for Key Zest magazine, followed the barking of her husband Nathan's dog, Ziggy, to a shallow grave with a man's body in it. The man was a local developer; famous for over-development on the Keys, womanizing, and refusing to follow city rules. The man who was attacked in the parking lot of a local restaurant after talking to Hayley was a local birdwatcher. In that moment, she is drawn into the case.
