This is the seventh volume of a work that contains the most comprehensive documentation of Goethe’s conversations to date. For the years 1809-1810 it once again presents a wealth of precisely dated accounts based on both printed sources (often revised on the basis of the manuscript) and unprinted sources. With regard to Goethe’s contacts with Johannes Falk, it has been possible to draw on previously unknown literary remains that transmit important accounts of conversations.
